Annual General Meeting - 26th January 2012

We would like to encourage as many of you as possible to attend the club's Annual General Meeting on Thursday 26th January 2012, from 7pm. It is important for everyone to understand where the club currently stands and where we intend to be over the coming year. It is also your opportunity to voice your opinions.

The AGM will take place in the function room of the L'Osteria restaurant in St Germain-en-Laye. It will be followed by a quality three-course meal with drinks included for a price of 40 euros per head. Partners and spouses are more than welcome to join us.

To vote on the AGM resolutions you will need to be a member for the year 2011 or to have confirmed your membership for 2012. If you are not officially a member, we will be more than happy for you to listen in on the meeting and of course to join us for the meal. We will then encourage you to sign up for 2012.

The restaurant is half-way between Poissy and St Germain town centres. For those of you without a car, the two RER stations are very close and I'm sure we'll be able to arrange pick up and drop off from one or the other. Map link

Please click here to sign up and confirm your attendance. Alternatively, you can email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more details.

If you cannot attend in person please download the proxy vote form from here and return it to us.

Agenda and other details have already been sent to all current members prior to the meeting.

Thank you

Robin Young - CTCC Chairman

Match report Thoiry V Eelavar

THE JOHN HARDY SHOW !

It is indeed rare that when Thoiry comes second a match report finds its way to the web site. However, even in defeat, there are certain things that need to be published and this is one of those occasions.

John HARDY shook away the years and showed us all how to bat, by blazing away and playing an absolutely brilliant 20/20 innings that any side would have been proud of. This coming from our older statesman who says that he doesn't like 20/20.....

READ ON !

Thoiry succeeded brilliantly to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by contriving to put down 11 catches yesterday in what turned out to be a very exciting finish. Yes I said 11.

THOIRY CC V RBCC

MAGIC MISSING AS CAPTAIN HAWSON LEADS FROM THE FRONT AND THOIRY SCRAMBLE FOR CRUMBS

RBCC arrived with 10 players after Brighton went missing  at sea. Following Saturday evening’s festivities, a becalmed RBCC took the field for a 30 over extravaganza. Kumar never ventured beyond a tranquil state  but thrilled the public with his cheery smile and pirouettes. Unfortunately, no nurse could be found to kiss his injured finger better when he failed to lay a whole hand on a ground shot.

Thoiry wins first ever "test match"

Thoiry CC beat Old Caths (Bristol) by 19 runs in a 4 innings match.

Dear All,

38° welcomed the teams to probably the hottest Saturday this year at Thoiry. Mark, inspired by the fantastic England performance throughout the summer, suggested to the teams that we play a 4 innings match. 'A' bats for 20 overs, then we swap, 'B' bats for 20 overs, then we have tea. Then 2 X 15 to finish the game. Both captains agreed (Mark agreeing with his own idea, good start) and then Mark won the toss and Thoiry elected to bat.

France U19's finish 3rd in European championship !

Will Smati shines in 3rd place play-off

(English & French versions)

At Cronkbourne, Italy won the toss and elected to bat against France. An innings of 47 from Abdur Bhuiyan led them to a total of 167 before they were bowled out after 49 overs.

In reply, France initially collapsed to 29-5. But a fine sixth wicket partnership between Zika Ali and William Smati got them back into the game. When Ali was out for 40, Smati and his captain Liddiard then brought the scores level before Liddiard was bowled with one over to go.
